Frequently asked questions
Can't find your answer? Ask in Discord, someone is usually around.
Is Mad Drift free?
Yes. Every server, car and track is free to use. MadVIP is optional and only adds cosmetic perks and queue priority.
What do I need to play?
A legit copy of GTA V for PC and FiveM. The join guide walks you through it.
Which server should I pick?
Tracks servers run Japanese touge and circuit maps. Los Santos servers are free-roam drifting around the city. Pick EU or US based on where you live for the best ping.
How do I spawn a car?
Press F1 and open the Vehicle spawner.
How do I tune or customise my car?
Press F1, then Vehicle options → Mod menu.
I spun out and people are behind me. What now?
Press F2 to noclip out of the way, then rejoin the track somewhere clear.
I am stuck on the loading screen.
The first join downloads our cars and maps, which can take 10–15 minutes. If it is still stuck, press F8, type quit and reconnect. If that fails, clear the FiveM cache as described in the join guide.
How do teams work?
Teams get an in-game tag and a page on the teams portal, where you log in with Steam. Teams are invite-only, so ask a team owner to add you. New teams are created by staff.
What do I get with MadVIP?
High priority queue, Exclusive VIP role, Custom tire smoke, Custom license plate, Change license plate types, Private Discord channel. It costs $19.99/month and you can manage or cancel it any time from the store.
I was banned. Can I appeal?
Contact staff calmly through Discord or by email at support@maddrift.net, with your in-game name and what happened. Arguing with staff in game will not help.
Why does the site say 500,000+ drivers when the database shows fewer?
Inactive player profiles were cleaned out of the database in 2021, so the live count only covers profiles that are still stored. The all-time figure counts everyone who has joined since 2020.
Is Mad Drift affiliated with Rockstar Games?
No. Mad Drift is a community server running on FiveM and is not approved, sponsored or endorsed by Rockstar Games.
